E36 convertible help

Can anyone recommend anyone in the Galway area the has experience getting a semi automatic roof to work? Not good at electrical work so its not an option for me to try it.thanks

Nothing happens when I lift the roof and press the button.

Check the motors haven’t been disengaged, there are two in a full auto- not sure about semi auto. They are in the boot behind the p/s boot linings. If the emergency handle has been pulled the motors pop out of the roof mechanism and switch off from operating, if this is the case try pushing them back in and see what happens

Thanks for the help lads.its gone to the mechanic,so hoping he resolves the issues so I can get it ready for an Nct.

There are many things that can go wrong with these roofs.

I’ve just sorted a fully automatic roof from a 1997 M3 with a donor part from another car.

Have you tried to re-sync the motors first?

This can sometimes be the culprit.
