It must be HUGE. Our 2016!X5 is big and is tight in car parks but it’d be dwarfed by the X7.

Definitely not suitable for Ireland. And yes the x5 is pretty big alright - I was parked next to one in Frank Keane a few months ago and the 5er looked tiny in comparison!

Very much aimed at the US market where big is still best (fugly is an understatement).

The only Irish buyers will be those with little man syndrome and the well heeled urban housewives who can't see past the badge....

The front end kind of reminds me of Mater, the character from the animated movie Cars.

Kinda on topic, what do you feel about the new X3M? To be honest the competition package seems like a really nice bus! 510bhp to boot!

I'm afraid the M brand has been watered down and spoiled by the SUV M's, the pseudo M's and the M Performance stuff as far as I'm concerned. The X3M is another nail in the coffin.

Agreed 100%, I think the X3M looks good and is the right size to be a potential replacement for the X5 though it’d need to be hybrid or diesel, rather than an M powered nonsense machine. My thought is if you want an M3 buy an M3 but if you want an SUV buy an SUV.

I think it sounds shit, is gonna steer like any tall vehicle and by all accounts thus far, has a bone shaking ride.

And to go way off topic, I don't think I like any current BMW outside of the M140i.

All of the X cars are now obnoxious, outside of maybe the X3.

The 8 is an overpriced 6
    The 7 is hideous
The 6 is now a 5 series GT
    5 is too big
4 has weird proportions outside of the M4
New 3 series, meh, maybe the 340i is gonna be cool.
2 series, still an odd looking car with something off about the proportions.
    1 Series, now FWD.

The M5 isn't as cool as an E63s

The M4, I'm still on the fence due to the S55

I drove the M2 Comp and while it is an effective instrument, the steering feel is disappointing, the engine sounds rubbish, it really doesn't like being revved out, it drives like a diesel with a slightly wider power band which completely distorts your sense of pace, the N55 in the standard M2 sounds way better.
The synthesised engine sound is almost insulting.
Also, there is quite a lot of road noise.

I reckon if I was shopping for a current gen performance car, it'd be the C63s.

    And breath
