I'd need to double check but I'm pretty sure I don't average much more than mid-20s on my 318Ci.

There seems like no good reason not to get an M3, lol

That's woeful! I was getting 26-28 mpg in my 325Ci and my dad has a 318Ci and he's consistently returning 33-35mpg and up to 40 on long runs

In fairness I do almost exclusively city driving. But it's still crap.

I think I was getting 19 in mine (e46). Well done Schooner, a nice achievement!

Probably a bit of an over exaggeration but I do drive it hard all the time

You can almost see the market for these things shifting as it happens. Some interesting facts:

-There are currently no e46's for sale on Carzone, DoneDeal or Adverts.*

-There are now a fair few sub £14k e92s on AutoTrader and a handful of sub £13k ones too. Although if you assume VRT of €9k which seems to be the figure suggested by people for these cars lately, then this doesn't seem like any better value than the few that are for sale here (e.g. that 2007 one for €22.5k and the 2008 one for €25.95k with the AUC warranty).

-Carzone currently has 16 M4's for sale. That's double the amount it had about 6 weeks ago when I made this comment.

*EDIT: Correction - there is one e46 on DoneDeal but it's a CSL, which is obviously not a meaningful comparator.

There has been a massive slow decline in E46 m3 for sale. I keep an eye on the market fairly regularly and you might see a decent one coming up for sale once every three/six month. They are still the same price as when I bought mine 3 years ago.
This is surprising as insurance/road tax for these cars are insane and I thought more people will be selling theirs. Altho with the amount of money/time/sweat I ve spent on mine I d rather keep it off the road if I couldn't afford it.

Is insurance that expensive on these now? Last time I insured my M, it was around €630 iirc
