This is correct , just had my own egr cooler replaced last week , if you go onto bmw service.ie put your reg in it will tell you if your car is needed for the recall or not , they are being replaced now regardless of condition

yea 90% of them are now just a straight up replace
only ones made around 2017-2018 are to be checked
