Can anyone recommend somewhere to get spoiler repainted?

Hi,

I just received an OEM e46 lip spoiler that I bought from eBay, only to realise it’s the wrong colour... (dark navy rather than sapphire black - It’s my fault for not confirming this before I bought but I was so convinced from the photos that it was BSM that I didn’t even think to ask!)

Anyway, can anyone recommend somewhere in Dublin I could get it repainted in BSM? I got a quote from a main dealer of €110 plus VAT, which seems fairly steep.

Alternatively would it be feasible for me to do it myself with a can of spray paint from Halfords, given how small the painted surface is?

As it’s painted already would I need to sand away all the paint and get down to the raw plastic, and prime again etc.?

I don’t think the main dealer is too bad considering the price of paint. I’d try As auto care in north Dublin for that job.

Waste of time using an aerosol paint mainly because of the clear coat. You will never achieve the finish of a proper clear.

For the amount of time an hassle preping it mixing the paint, spraying it, baking it your not doing bad at 110 euro!

Thanks all. I'm waiting on another quote but unless it's substantially lower then I'll probably just go with the main dealer.

I only bought the car a couple of weeks ago as a runaround. It's factory M Sport but curiously doesn't have a boot lip spoiler. I can make out a faint line across the back of the boot so I suspect a previous owner took it off for some reason.

Not many were removed by the owners over the years, although many were removed......
