Lightbulb Small recommended Car related Purchases

saw this thread on another forum and though I would start one here, its always interesting. What are the small things you purchased for your car that you find indispensable. Whats in Aldi and Lidl? Amazon, ebay, Aliexpress, adverts.ie etc....

I will start off with my favourite, I refuse to pay a petrol station for compressed air.

Amazon Basics Portable Air compressor. I have tried a load of halfords ones etc and found them really weak. This one can inflate a wheel quickly, its not that noisy. And can be set to automatic cutoff at specified pressure. Has a lamp too. €50 euro free delivery with Amazon Prime.

Great idea, thanks. I was looking at compressors recently but they all seemed weak.

I got these air vent magnetic phone holders recently as I got sick of fishing the phone from the passenger foot well.

They the most discrete phone holders I could find.

On your advice John I got those too, they work great even on very heavy phones.

Battery Charger, saved me a few times and has revived some dead batteries. The OEM BMW ones are Ctek anyway.

This is a handy item which I have used a few times. Puncture repairs at home saves hassle.

are these tight on the vent? I found with my belkin mount that the whole lot would go flying on a hard corner.

Yep, one axis is tighter than the other so it’s just a matter of picking the narrower one.

Hello gentlemen, would someone please recommend a good socket set that would include Torx bits, impact socket set etc that I can get in Dublin (except Halfords one)?

Halfords Advanced range is decent quality for the price and of course comes with a lifetime warranty. It's rumoured that Teng actually makes them for Halfords....

I've THIS set and it has been faultless (although I see it's doubled in price since I bought it 5 years ago !)

Can I ask why you’d shy away from the Halfords stuff? Quality is as good as good as Teng and better in most instances. Will far outstrip draper, sealy etc.

The only way you’ll do better than Halfords quality wise is to go for Facom.

I have a set of the Halfords ratchet spanner’s and they are the exact same as gear wrench.

I’m normally a brand snob but Halfords is hard to argue with!
