Hi lads what is the best engine oil to use on a bmw e34 520i.

For that engine semi synthetic Castrol Magnatec 10W40 is very good.I've used it for years.

I would say any decent brand 10w40 semi (BMW LL01/4) is sufficient on that engine - the change interval is more important....

I used Liqui-Moly on my old E34 (Otto used to stock it).
