    E60 shock absorber reccomendations

    Hi all,

Any recommendations for a 'budget' shock absorber for E60 M-sport ?

By budget, i don't mean cheap but 'reasonable... middle of the road'

one of the fronts has a leak and to be honest they look like they are original since new (2007)

On a side note, why are the sport shocks about double the price of non-sport ones ?

    Cheers,
    John

I just went with Sachs when I replaced mine John. I think they worked out at €150 each

Monroe Reflex Shocks (M Sport specific ones) get good reviews for the E39's so assume the same for the E60 ! Would be cheaper than the Sachs too....

what about good old fashioned bilstein b4's and through in some eibach springs while your there, alot of e60s have broken front springs, you may not even realise till you strip the shocks!

Not arguig with the gist of your suggestion, but would B6 not be the appropriate replacement for a Sport?

I was actually looking at the Bilstein site, they list the B4 for sport and non-sport.

Price is more or less in line with equivalent oem replacements.

Good to know. I’ll probably need to do mine soon and had been wondering if I’d go for the B6’s for a touch more firmness on an SE but if youre replacing Sport shocks with B4’s and happy then that’s probably enough for me.

BTW - micksgarage are having a shock sale at the moment - 15% off using code SHOCK15 until midnight 11th Oct (yes, I know they can be hit or miss price-wise). They carry Sachs amongst others in stock.
