Just wondering if anyone knows for sure when the owner of a car dies, is a death certificate sufficient to use to sell the car on or does it need to wait for the grant of probate to be completed and Executor of Will to then sell?

Afaik the executor can sell the car, that establishes what its value was for the estate. That’s what happened when my Grand Aunt died, anyway.Originally Posted by eddiem74

Well considering the house will also be part of the estate it will exceed 25k for sure. So seems better to wait for grant of probate so everything is clearly with Executor.
Was just asking as I didn't want the car lying around for an extended period.
