    Welcome Irish Car Competitions

    Folks,

We're happy to welcome Irish Car Competitions onto the forum as a site sponsor. This recently set up company is being run by one of our own along with one or two others. Im sure you aware of the format of the competitions commonly found on Facebook, but the guys have taken it a step further with an official website, payment gateway, etc. All cars are Irish registered, so no need to worry about VRT, etc.
Im sure they'll be along soon to give more information and updates on cars that are up for grabs as they become live.
Go check out their website - Irish Car Competitions

Great to have you on board and wish you success with the new venture!

    Thanks Dave

As some of you are already aware, myself and a few friends set this company up just before Christmas.
It's a long story so bear with me. We were always buying the odd ticket for other car competitions that were running in the north. However, the big disadvantage was that if you won the car you would be hit with a hefty VRT bill.
An example of such would be the winner in the south that was recently handed the keys to an E60 M5 who subsequently couldn't actually afford the VRT and has now been left with a car he cannot drive.
I know they can sell it on but that's not really the point. I think if you enter one of these competitions you would actually like to drive the thing.

Keeping that in mind we have also found it quite difficult to sell on our own cars in recent years due to the onset of PCP deals across the county.
I'm sure anyone that has recently tried to sell their car (generally with a value over €10K) can find it difficult to do so.

As a result we decided to set up the business primarily because we love anything to do with cars but also to give people an opportunity to win "something special".
It also allows people who are having difficulty selling their car to come to us and help "sell" it for a reasonable market value to them.

The first car we have up for grabs is a 2001 Porsche Boxster S.
It's an unbelievable car if I'm honest. I never fully understood the attraction to Porsche's but recently after driving a 1980 Porsche 911, a GT4 and the Boxster I get it.
They are extremely well engineered cars and I have to say the Boxster felt unbelievably balanced being a mid-engined car.
It was previously owned by a Porsche Specialist and it truly shows in how this car drives.

We would appreciate as much support as possible to get the first competition underway.
As an added bonus, we are giving a free ticket with the first 100 tickets sold.

Thanks again Dave for adding us.
    Eamonn

Feel free to buy a ticket Alan. You could have two Porches then.
