207 GTi - discuss

Stumbled on one of these looking for something else, Peugeot 207 1.6 THP GTi 3dr. Has the look of the 206 WRC racers, I kinda like it (for the Mrs...!)

Apparently a little fragile, but same BMW engine as the Cooper S. Anyone any experiences? Are they as fragile as made out to be?

This engine won international engine of the year like 7 years in a row. I was looking at DS3 Racing few years ago but there are quite a lot horror stories on the web with rebuilds as early as 30kkm. Also the usual stuff: chain/tensioners are quite infamous on those.

If it's the same engine as in the R56 Cooper S I've seen a lot of negative feedback - caveat a lot of this is from R53 owners .
