E34 535i - Scrap it or save it?

Im a bit stuck here, I bought a car for parts today and when I got there to pick it I couldn’t believe the condition it was in.

It looks a bit rough from lying up but the car it turns out had been painted recentlyish maybe in the last 3 years.

I bought it for a wiper linkage and for any random odds and ends that I may need when putting my own e34 back together but really I think it’s a bit too straight to break.

It does have the head off it and needs a new head gasket but that’s not a very big job really.

Opinions? It’s solid in all the right places. To me it just seems like a crying shame to start stripping it for parts. I can’t remember the last time I saw a 535i.

All E34's are worth saving - unless of course they're diesel, or a 518i or 520i - in which case they should be burnt. Seems like a minor enough piece of work for the engine and some interior and exterior tidy ups. I'd save it anyway .

I think you'd kick yourself later if you broke it.

Save it. A 535i E34 is a rare beast these days.
