Motor tax is up at the end of this month and this evening just got an email reminder about the renewal including the details to renew online.
It also states no reminder will be sent in the post so to keep/use the email.
Obviously their going green...
If you supply an email address you get an email reminder only - don't give the the address and it'll arrive by post.

Has started to happen to me too. I renewed it in the tax office not online the last time. It's annoying cos I have to print a form from scratch now again. It's not like it's any cheaper either to do it for myself! It has now happened twice by email no letter. Very annoying as I don't always have Internet access where I can print!
