Mixing Brexit in to the equation, anyone got a thought on how they might look at an import in January if the car was brought in to the country in December and the January declaration date was within the allowed 30 days of arrival? Would it be liable for any Customs duty post Brexit, or not, because it was here in December?
I am looking at bringing in one of these myself in the new year. So I plugged the details into the vrt calculator to see what the difference would be. At the moment there are 4 m sport 530e on the calculator. Am I right in saying the 530e got a bigger battery early 2019 hence the different co2 rating and possibly a change from NEDC to WLTP? The example I used on the calculator was a July 2018 with 30k MILES, that car should get a €2000 rebate under the current system. The figures are as follows:
38g old vrt €2789, new vrt €2394
41g old vrt €2229, new vrt €2114
46g old vrt €2055, new vrt €2028
49g old vrt €1374, new vrt €1687
*Nox not included
While not a huge change it seems in most cases it will be cheaper to bring one in, that's provided there isn't a no deal brexit.

I haven't done a whole lot of research, mainly because I'm not sure what I want - but plan to pull the trigger within a fortnight though if all goes to plan. How are you working those figures out? The VRT rate should go from 14% to 7% for cars under 50g from Jan 1st.
I'm Just going off the OMSP and multiplying by 0.07
I'll use the 46g co2 as an example, on the calculator it is giving an OMSP of €28970
Under the current system.
28970 x 0.14 = 4055 minus the €2000 euro rebate = €2055 (calculator automatically calculates the rebate)
Under system from 1st Jan.
28970 x 0.07 = 2028
Here is the Statistical Code 43087720.

Ah yes the rebate - forgot about that. Saw someone on boards say that the Nox charge for theirs was €5!
Yes there is bigger battery from mid 2019. I think it got this weird new digital cluster like in G20 at the same time, so should be easy to recognise.
