    Stuck coolant float

Thought i'd check the coolant level in the e90 yesterday and when i unscrewed the cap the float well wasnt floating.. it appears to be stuck fully down. There is coolant in the expansion tank and i've not had any level warnings. Tried giving it a little poke but it doesnt want to move at all, also tried adding more coolant but still didnt budge. Never seen this before, could it be stuck down somehow? I did get a new water pump about a year ago and havent checked it since.

Is it new expansion tank time?

    Cheers

I reckon so, plenty of evidence on other forums to say that these things do fail unfortunately.

Seen a few febi tanks on ebay for around 50 quid, would you think these would be ok or would this be one of those parts best to go OEM?
