With summer approaching the E34 will be coming out of storage soon. I would like to give it a full suspension overhaul. I have no problem with the majority of the work, my only issue is the SLS suspension on the rear. The shocks themselves are fine have no leaks, don't sag if left sitting there and everything seems to work perfectly. But the springs are looking a bit worse for wear and I reckon they are the original spring so was thinking of changing them. I'm just afraid that if I do go at them, I will upset everything and start developing leaks.

As I see it I have 3 options:

1: leave well alone, as the saying goes if it's not broken don't fix it!

2: change the sprrings and hope for the best.

3: delete the SLS system and install standard shocks.

Out of all my options, no:3 is probably the most work and my least favourite.

Was just wondering does anyone on here have much experience with SLS suspension on the E34/32 that maybe be able to give me some tips if I was to tackle it. TIA.
