    Epoxy Garage Floor

I'm in the process of constructing my garage and will want to apply an epoxy resin when completed.
Does anyone have any recommendations for people/companies you have used?

I'm contemplating doing it myself but there's a good few steps to getting a flawless finish.
I have a powerfloated floor in place at present.

Also interest in this as I'm looking at getting this on my new garage floor this summer. Might end up chancing doing it myself, although my previous paint jobs never turned out as well as intended

Nathan in Sperrin Paints is very good and they do good deals on Epoxy resin floor paint kits, I went for the grey for my garage floor (12M x 9M) used 30L from memory, I done it myself, poewrfloated concrete, he supplies the acid etched and the Epoxy paint, worth a look sperrinpaintsltd.co.uk, they are based up North

    Thanks Mark,

    I’ll give them a shout.

Did you just etch the surface and then go straight for the 2 pack epoxy or did you also seal it with a primer?

No problem at all, I just went from acid etch and after she had fully dried, took around 3-4days went straight into 2pack epoxy, now I did end up doing 3 coats... must see if I have any pics from back then when it was empty :-)

Does the epoxy apply like paint, like is it easy to leave streaks etc on it or is applied in thicker coats and it just settles to a smooth finish?

Certainly that's a great size for a garage. My plan is to hopefully build a shed of similar size elsewhere for storage and the main garage at the house for working on the cars.

I've been doing a lot of research and from what I've read the epoxy is best rolled on like paint. It's not self levelling so care is needed to ensure an even and uniform coat.
Then re-apply another coat the following day.
The hardest part is apparently the prep and making sure the floor is clean dry and and free from all contaminants.

Cool, thanks! I'll start looking into it now properly myself.
