Looking at bringing in an Alpina D3 BiTurbo (2009 or 2010).

Can't see it on the VRT site, and my insurers don't have them on their system.

Will I get badly stung if I bring one in and hope for the best?

In a word yes. The hassle my friend had with his D3.

Nice idea but the chances are that the reg document won't support it as I think they shown Alpina as the brand rather than BMW?? (probably a q for Andy, as he is the resident Alpina guru )

I've been onto the vrt office, they told me to get 4 examples of similar cars for sale in Ireland and get an average. The only Alpina is an older D3, and it's very pricey for the year, so doesn't help the cause.

The logbook should show Alpina. I remember one time in the vrt office and the guy swung his monitor around and asked me to try and find one of the Alpina's on the system.

Despite having letters from BMW dealers etc the owner of that D3 ran into some issues.

What kind of issues if you don't mind saying Andy? I'm going to buy this week or next at the latest, and looking at two different D3 BiTurbos...only thing that's stopping me putting a deposit down is the VRT question

Was In Paris last year saw small telltale signs of this but nothing on this level seems to have degraded rapidly over the last 12 months they really are up shit creek without a paddle now it seems ,time to deploy the military imo forget the tear gas and rubber bullets
