    E39 Alloy Wheels

Currently Style 65 wheels (reps) are needing a refurb, and debating whether or not to change them.
They do suit the car very well, but have the car coming up to 7 years, and maybe a little change would be nice...if they were genuine, there'd be no question; Id refurb them!

Anyone got anything sitting around, that they'd let go? PM me with what you have!

See if you can get yourself an 18" set of style 42 that's the wheel I'd go for if changing

Yeah, they are sweet! M-Pars would be another option! Style 95s, maybe!

I'd be with Gar - the split rim 42's are pretty cool in my opinion, but hard enough to come by. M-Pars are 10 a penny, so would get a no from me, and the 95's never did it for me on the e39.

More realistically, I always liked the Styling 49's and 81's, and are a bit different without going too mad on the tyre size and impacting comfort unduly. They also have the advantage (some may consider it a dubious advantage) of not being staggered, making tyre rotations, spare wheel size, etc easier.

If your happy with Style 65 (and agree they always looked well on M-Sports) you could always pick up a set of OEM's probably with tyres for little money as plenty of them being broken now on done deal. Get them refurb'd etc.
My Fav rim for the E39 is the M5 style 65 18"s Staggered OEM rims, after that in an 18 I'd be after the split look style 42

Agree on the 95's, mpars 10 a penny link me up please I have people asking me regularly to sell mine they just can't get them anymore unless they are willing to part with 4 digit figures

They are the most popular wheel by far though so maybe I do agree slightly most enthusiast owned cars will be running them but with so few left on the road now it's not like they are everywhere

I have a staggered set of genuine style 65's that need a refurb and also a staggered set of BBS RX 508 split rims also needing a refurb if either take you fancy Dave? The BBS would be a nice wheel cleaned up.

The reason for changing is, that over the past few weeks, the rear passenger tire was dropping pressure and I was topping it up. Dont know if there was a puncutre, crack in the wheel, the valve was leaking or whatever. Put getting it looked at on the long finger, and the tyre is shot. Came out to the car after putting air in it the previous night, and it was almost on the ground....was holding reasonable pressure for a week or so. Decided to take the very short trip to the petrol station to put are in, but it was f**ked.
On inspection of the wheel, there was a buckle in it, but dont know it was there already or happened in the process of driving the car to the petrol station and up the small bump from the road onto the path.

Repair + refurb versus OEM wheel, are my thoughts!

Whoops....! No offence or disrespect intended to anyone with M-Pars (embarrassed!!)! I actually like the wheels, just that its been done in numbers already. To be honest, these days if you want to be different on an e39 a clean set of Styling 66's are the way to go.....
