R56 Mini Cooper D ABS Unit

Hi guys, do you know if this has to be coded?

    This is the faulty part:

    There are loads of different numbers on the units, for example other ones are: 15803010, 15803709, 15803711, 15803012R, 6782311, 15803010N, 54084944B, 15803010P, 678231101, 54084902D, 678457701, 54084902B, 15803010N

But when I check RealOEM the single OE number is: 34506786224

Does the code on the unit matter? Or is it just a matter of getting any of them as long as its the OE PN and getting it coded?

    Cheers.

Would you consider getting it rebuilt? There's a company in Cork that does it, FreeStorm.

On most BMWs the ABS unit needs to be coded, it can be done with NCS Expert. If you got yours repaired then no coding required.

Got it repaired from a crowd in Cork, errors etc popped up again after 40km. Sent it to the UK for repair, all was good, but they were doing final testing of it this morning at it threw up errors again, stripped it and apparently there are metal filling inside in the pump!

Thinking about trying secondhand/refurbished before new, the quantity of different part numbers written on them has me confused, despite having a single part number on RealOEM. Maybe its a matter of swapping control units with the new pump?

Or maybe any of them will do, as long as its ASC and not just ABS? Or is that just a software feature?

Very little info online about them.

    Cheers.

Some control modules have many more part number versions than what is listed in RealOEM and the likes. I noticed this when looking for LM2s for the e63s and also the Bluetooth module was an even bigger nightmare part number wise.

I believe that the different part numbers actually mean that there is a revised version of the software on the module. I think you have probably called it correctly, any Mini ASC unit from a car with ASC will be fine.

There's a guy I use for work on my Mini here in Cork, Ger O'Leary has a few of them scrapped (I think). He would be worth a call, he has specialised in Minis for years. If has one that suits and a price that works for you I could collect it from him tomorrow/Friday. I'm traveling to Dublin Saturday so I could drop it up for you. He is only over the road from my place of work.
