Bought a 08 520d m sport fairly well specd tested for 2 years and taxed. Need to do the chain for piece if mind and new fan belt and full service happy with the car ill keep it for few months then get a 530

Would add to resale too, if there was 2 520s for sale identical, one 500 more than the other but has the chain done, which would you pick?! Well wear with it man!

Very true, just don't see the point in spending €1,000 to get €500 back on a car being kept a few months. Then again, I'd not buy one knowing the chain needed to be done.

Chain kit is only 250 odd to buy now. If you can do yourself its not much cost really, engine out job so if you had to pay someone labour would be alot alright
