This car has been my daily driver for the past 3 years.
It always got anything it needed, regardless of cost.
Original, unmodified car, minded like a baby and never abused. Mature owner.
Smoke-free, pet-free!
I have a large folder of receipts for all the work carried out on the car over the years by previous owners and myself.
Car spent most of it's life in South Dublin, with service history from Murphy & Gunn and Joe Duffy.
Original BMW manuals, service book, old NCT certs showing mileage, tax discs etc. all present.
Interior seats, headlining, boot area are in immaculate condition.
Outside is very good, some small age related marks. No rust.
During my ownership:
New BMW AGM Battery - fitted and coded by Conlons Limerick
Rocker cover gasket
Replaced broken cup holder
New mats
Tailgate Washer fixed
Wiper linkage done
Index 11 injectors fitted
Coolant thermostat & flush
Lambda sensor
New wipers and Cabin Pollen Filters replaced recently
Oil service carried out in June at 127k miles.
Clutch, Brakes and gearbox all excellent
CD, radio, mirrors, windows and all controls etc. all working as they should.
Very comfortable car to drive. Great seats
Good points:
Very comfortable car
Interior Immaculate
Bodywork and Alloys excellent
Overall condition - one of the best 2007 5 series Tourings in the country
New NCT until July 2021.
Suspension tight and solid - car has had an easy life.
Bad points:
Small scuff on the arch side of the plastic bumper at the back - nothing major
Very slight misfire that I can detect intermittently.
It's quite subtle, so I haven't been able to nail it down. Doesn't throw a code
Could be a coil pack or plug starting to wear - the N53s can be fond of them.
**Update - I brought the car to John Roche in Gort who worked his magic. I haven't
felt it since, in over 6 weeks of driving**
Very sad to see this car go, but new commute means I am upgrading to a F11.
Would like to see it go to someone on the Forum who will get a few more years of enjoyment out of it.
