Any common issues? Problems? Things to check out?

From what I understand is the 2009 Diesel engines are Ford 1.6 engines and the older ones are shite?

Still uses the PSA engine (Peugeot 1.6 hdi) which the Focus/S40/C4 all share. They are a good little engine once serviced very regularly but if it's not been done regularly they turn into a nightmare!

So what I'm saying is check the service history

Oil starvation to the turbo makes it poop it's pants.
