Question: how much would something like the above go for in Ireland? I just love the look of these. A mate of mine imported a canary yellow 2002 from Southern Spain a few years ago..classic/timeless shape. Beautiful.
Someone like Andy would have a better idea than me, but I'd say a solid 2002 Turbo wouldn't be much cheaper than an E9 CSL. Maybe starting around £40k to pick one up over the water?
Or to nick the saying from the credit card advert: "Looking cool as f**k - priceless!"
That guy has some serious cars over the years and the detail of the turbo restoration is amazing, and I thought I was bad. I love seeing people going to those extremes with cars, if I had the funds I would too.
I had a 2002 turbo restored over a couple of years in Holland and lost my nuts when i had to sell it. The guy that did mine would be considered the turbo specialist on the planet and has looked at and sold more turbos then anyone else.
I guess it depends also on what extent you want to go to with the restoration. Do you preserve some patina, go factory fresh maintaining original parts (what I did) or try and go better than when it left the factory. There needs to be a balance as I really like seeing originality in a car.
Here is an album of my car showing various stages. This was an Italian 2 owner car that was sourced from Italy.
