@[Dave] be your best bet to ask! Fella i know had one for short period and had alot of issues with it, hes now in a 530d e60
Depends on the era , 05 ish BLB engine codes have an oil pump design issue. There's a pre failure fix that can be done buts it's expensive. If I recall correctly BRE's are a better design with a similar issue but a much easier pre emptive fix.
I worked in a breakers yard and all I'll say is we never had any problems shifting any VAG parts. My mate had his own garage and 80% of his repair work is VAG Repairs.
That's a fairly sweeping thing to say
Also, very accurate. Thats how I rate cars and it works.
Turns out the car I am looking is declared a cat D!
Before i got the e60 i was looking for a4-a6 2.0 tdi , everyone said to steer clear cause they give alot of problems ,in the end went for the e60 cause looks much better , and i like the 6 pot sound , not that e60 is trouble free but looks so much better ,and you can find parts easyly enough ,just my 2cOriginally Posted by Chillipepper
Before buying a passat I was looking for an 06 ish A4 tdi. I couldn't believe how much scrap there was on the market. Every one I saw had been driven to death with starship mileage and rough bodywork. Unless I was willing to pay top dollar there was nothing decent to be had.
I am in my third one now, all ran from new up to approx 160000kms. Bar some really crappy dealer service, I have no complaints and had only one issue, a turbo failure which was replaced under warranty 2 years in. Happened as I was heading down the M6 in the UK and Audi orgainsed to have it replaced in the London the next day, even collected the car from the hotel and left me a loaner.
