    Diagnostic codes help.

Recently done a engine swap in my e36. It was cranking over but wouldn't start. I done the diagnostics today and got the following codes:

    Electronic Car Immobiliser System

    Error Code Dec:

    255
    15
    1

    Error Code Hex:

    00FF
    000F
    0001

Anyone have any idea what those codes exactly are ? Tried looking on Google but couldn't find anything :/

Did you also switch over the DME?

Yeah swapped the DME, the EWS box that's under the glove box and changed the chip in the key.

OK! Did you get so,some to align the EWS to the DME? If not it won't start until you do. The is an ISN code in the DME that you have to input in to the EWS module so that they are paired together.
You can do,this job with either INPA, DIS or Autologic (maybe other tools too).
