335i need back seats and at 6"2 there would zero room behind me in the one series

I'd go for the 335 but it would be the diesel variant. Can't beat the the 6 cylinder oil burner, effortless power delivery:wink:

135i for me, I love the shape and size they remind me of an E30.
335i would be my second choice although it would have to be a saloon for me.

    135i, 335i or Z4 3.0 Si?

335i, find the 1ers too feminine.
I like the Z4 but need the option of taking passengers.

Went from a iS to a 335i myself, you won't be disappointed. There's a buying guide sticky in the 3 series section, highlight the known issues, injectors, coil pack, hpfp.

Had a loan of my cousin's 2011 335i Sport with the DCT box and it was incredible to drive. Not sure what year you're looking at though, I imagine a newer one like that on the newer system with the more efficient single turbo engine would be 35k plus?

What do you love, what car do you desire ? or aim to ? if you have no love for a car and want other peoples opinions I don't think the relationship will last

Don't want M maintenance and avoid the 1800+ tax as much as possible

I drove modern diesels and definitely know what you mean about the wave of torque but just prefer a petrol

Agree about the 1 feeling like 3 before it got bigger, that's what appeals to me about it

I'd say a low miler 2011 sport will be way over budget but will keep my eyes peeled for sure

I love all 3 Jay just posting to see what people have to say about them. I like how the 1 is more compact and lighter and wonder if it'd be more fun to drive than the 3 but the downside is that it looks like a toy car especially when side by side with an e92. If there's little difference in how they drive I would pick the e92, it's classier and more grown up imo. Always had a soft spot for the Z4s especially the e85 and the 3.0 Si is the newest and ultimate (non-M) expression of it so had to be thrown in the mix!

Anybody drive a 1 and 3 with the same engine before?
