    E39 PDC

Hey lads, my E39 has PDC front and back that isn't working, just making that solid beep that tells you it's not. What would ye recommend I plug the car into to see what the problem is? I've heard you can check the sensors by listening to them outside the car when it's engaged.

Thanks lads. Would one faulty sensor cause it all to go?

Hi, give me a shout if you want me to plug in the diagnostics to tell you which sensors are dead. I'm in Cork. As the guys have said, you can usually tell which ones are dead by activating the system & listening for the ticking noise. They can still tick & not work but usually they stop ticking.

Thanks, that'd be excellent! I'll send you a PM there now.

Yep. If one is faulty it could think it's right up against something and thus telling the PDC module that you are too close to an object and thus the constant beep.

This case might mean that all of them would still be ticking and you wouldn't be sure which one is faulty.

Many thanks to Rebel.Ranter for meeting me today, full diagnostic done on the car as well, much appreciated. 5 sensors gone so I'll pick up a set of them in a bit, a coil is needed for cylinder 6 due to a misfire which is probably what's causing the cold misfire along with a new vacuum hose.

All in all, easy and cheap enough fixes, happy out with that!

    Thanks man!
