Needed dc jack asap

Stuck here at the moment wondering if anyone has any ideas the other halfs in the final year of a degree and has an assignment due in 48hrs all her work is on her netbook which has just died iv figured out its the dc jack port

I need one asap iv rang a few local computer shops all saying 5 or 6 days amazon cant get one to me until 21-25th march any suggestions

Take apart a usb hardrive and swap the HD from the laptop into the caddy.

Edit Sorry thought you were looking for a way so she could access the data on the HD

Never even thought of them thought be just mainstream stuff chargers and maybe batterys etc will pop in tomorrow cheers

What make of net book? Does anyone have a netbook you could borrow parts from?

Acer aspire be to much to ask john its very involved getting the dc jack out i wouldnt take it from someone elses iv two other laptops is well sony and pb if i cant source a dc port by tomorrow im going to try swapping over hardrives hopefully it fits in one of the other laptops

You can't just swap the hard drives gar, chipset driver will be different.

Have you stripped the laptop down to the motherboard? it's usually possible to reattach the charge pin.

Yep stripped down completely dave minus the screen have the dc port in my hand but no obvious damage checked wiring and even stripped jack down and rebuilt (as much as possible) but couldnt get it to charge

Had it in the shop today they confirmed it was the jack but needed it for 5/6 days for part to come in
