    E90 Sat-Nav Problem. Help please!!

    Hi Folks,

I am hoping someone on here can point me in the right direction and potentially save me some €€€.

I have an E90 3-Series with the Navigation Professional. A few weeks ago, the Nav just suddenly stopped working. When I bought the car it had the original disc in it (2006) which I quickly changed to the latest disc maps - albeit not an official BMW one due to the cost! This was working perfectly for 9 months with no issues whatsoever. I am now faced with the iDrive asking me to insert the disc whenever the Nav is selected, but the disc is already in and spinning around - I can hear it. It also will not eject the disc from the unit. I have tried resetting the iDrive on several occasions but no joy. I also went to a couple of dealers and they (naturally) told me it was going to need an entire new drive for the unit (€1000) .

Surely there must be an alternative solution to this problem? Is there a company out there or a specialist that can fix this without me having to break the bank? Has anyone else on here experienced anything similar?

All help will be greatly appreciated guys...

    Cheers,

    Stu

    Hi check this www.nawigacjakrakow.pl

Get in touch with those guys, they repaired a few ccc customers sent over.
About 170 euros on average plus your own shipping to Poland. I dealt with a few local companies here before but most don't have a clue.

Thanks for the help Germaniks but taking apart my unit is not something I'd be comfortable in attempting, let alone sending it abroad. Would you know of a company in Ireland (even yourselves?) who would be able to fix it?

    Thanks
