E60 down in power...?

Just received a call from a mate who is the owner of a 2006 e60 520d, 6 Speed manual.

He's reporting the following problem,

- the car pulls fine through 1st and 2nd, it's down in power in 3rd, 4th and 5th but 6th is as it should be. He says in the effected gears, he's hitting a flat spot around 2-3k revs, and won't come out of it.

He reckons himself it's the DPF that's blocked?

Any ideas what the issue may be, or has anyone experienced similar problems?

Had the exact same problem as described, (06 520d M Sport Auto) brought the car to Valdelis, sure enough DPF badly blocked.

Valdelis removed the DPF and remap and the car is running sweeter than ever..

Anywhere in the West/North West that could undertake such work?

I had something similar in mine a few years age (n47 320d) and it turned out to be a broken swirl flap actuator.
