Personally I'd go with a Samsung, what size are you looking for? And is it SATA or mSATA?Originally Posted by fluffmister
I've one of these in my desktop:

Use it to host the OS and hard disks to store movies and music.
SSDs are brilliant so good call I have a 120gb in my machine and if I was buying again I'd probably go for twice that.
250GB Samsung Evo 850:

That's €98.65 inclding delivery to Ireland, seems like a great deal
the plan is to move it to the standard hdd bay in my mac and put the hdd in the optical bayOriginally Posted by Ketron
wow thats a great priceOriginally Posted by Mark
just wondering but presume this will be a lot better speed upgrade then ram?
How much RAM do you have? Speed is subjective, but if the SSD hosts your OS you'll have vastly improved boot times, and any programs that operate from it, even with a cheap SSD will load at a factor of 10x quicker, presuming its PCIe SATA III.Originally Posted by fluffmister
Went with the one I was liked there the Samsung 250gb sata 3.
Have 4gb of ram would like to upgrade but ram prices have gone up along in last year

RAM is generally cheap, you're borderline at 4gb, but it really depends on what you use your PC for. I've 16gb thats overclocked, but its a gaming PC, unless you do similar (or CAD) high RAM is unnecessary. I'd bump it up to 8 considering you're going for an SSD upgrade.Originally Posted by fluffmister
Yeah mostly video and photo editing photoshop lightroom etc so be fairly heavy on ram
