    now heres the solutions
1 their is a chap who has setup servers to give u an activatiuon code and a software patch and activate for u for a small fee
2 theirs also a diy on the forums to allow u to change the vmware glitch which allows u to get dis up and running

#i can confirm all this works as i lost my activation when i updated windows etc.but u do need a copy of the original bm technic software which i have on a usb stick
and it now works so easy now i have it working in tandem with ncs dummy
Why would you pay for activation codes? All this stuff is available for free on the web.
You just need to install bmw standard tools and update the daten files.
Bm technic like all other packaged products came with messed up daten files anyway so you still had to update them manually.
Plenty of other vendors for uk and romania that sell the package without any code too.

They should have a cable, etc. to meet your needs.
Thanks for the link. Just ordered the cable, can you also recommend a site to download files from. Looking at car360.com but as far as computers and downloading I might as well be looking in a field of thistles, cows arse or something along those lines

I recently got VCDS (vag com) 12.12 up and running for the other half's car. Does anyone know if the vcds(clone) K + d-can cable would work also with inpa? Or am I completely shooting in the dark?

    Cheers.

    www.bcables.com

    www.cable-shack.co.uk

Both above are still doing one click installs of INPA and DIS, etc.

You should also look at Rheingold (ISID), that's the latest and greatest.

The product came out 7 years ago to replace DIS, about time you ask the question :-)

Anyway ISTA/D came out in 2009 to replace DIS and was totally revamped about 2 years ago. Exactly same interface, menus etc, but the whole product was redeveloped from the inside as it was bloated from the beginning. The development code of the BETA program for the new version was called RHEINGOLD. Rheingold is a Beta and cracked version of then about to release ISTA/D 2 years ago.

RHEINGOLD is regularly maintained by some guys on the internet and many download it and use it to run diagnostics. The product does not code or flash anything. But yeah as Mark said this is basically the latest and the greatest.

Many Irish garages use the official online version from BMW by paying a subscription.

BMW like any other car manufacturers for years, been required by law to make their diagnostic tool available to professionals outside the official dealerships. So BMW, Mercedes, Audi etc, all have online versions available to independent garages. Costs a few thousands, but it is here and does the job.
