2012 5 Series stolen with ease last night - CCTV inside

Along with a 2016 Focus ST, this car was taken last night in the Dublin 15 area. Im no relation to the victim but this video has been going around.

    Disgusting how easy it seems.

Insurance companies are forcing use to buy newer cars yet newer cars are easier to steal by the evidence shown.

I'll stick to my 21 year old E36 thank you very much

The keys for the Focus were fished through the letterbox. (Seen on FB earlier)

How are the cars being started? And the window opened? What's the best prevention for this situation
Not even cctv works by the look of it

There is talk on FB that the board the second chap has is picking up a key frequency. I dont know how true it is.

Simple key coder is also being talked about.

Best prevention is a better alarm with more sensors. You could also install manual kill-switches, disabling fuel pumps, hidden in place difficult to locate in the 2/3 minutes of an attempted robbery. Also have a tracker installed. For the sake a few hundred quid is another piece on your side of the court. Also could have an anti-theft poll installed in front of the car.

Disgraceful that you have to go to this measures to keep your property safe.

This looks to be a great solution

I wouldn't class cctv as a deterrent at all a dog would be far more usefull depending on location and distance between car and house

My oul lad put a tracker in his motor home. Insurance company said they wouldn't pay out if it didn't work.

    Fuckin knackers.

Definitely worthwhile piece of kit though!
