Motortech for Timing Chain Replacement on 318i e90
Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anybody used jonathan rooney in Motortech and would you recommend them.
Got a price for changing the dreaded timing chain issue and seems very reasonable.
Can say its cheaper than most other bmw specialists.
Not sure if he has made a mistake with the quote, but let me know what kind of money you have paid for the timing chain replacement.

Its defo not 2 grand from BMW Specialist. You might be thinking about when it has broken, then it probably is two grand with damage to valves and other things.
It is €1500.00 from Joe Duffy BMW.
He said he would be using original equipment. don't really want to put quote on here. Think the usual price is around €900.00. He is cheaper than that.
Was quoted €500.00 plus vat by two companies and then others want 950.00 just wondering am i missing something.Originally Posted by Gar

Folks, it's a petrol, if your paying €1300 for a 4 cylinder petrol your being rode!!!!!

Geez thought we were talking about x20d diesel again my bad....
Are the petrols timing chain different to the diesel? Is it still engine out? Is €550.00 a good price?
