48 Degrees Celsius yesterday here in Cairo... Not quite what I had in mind when I left Ireland in search of sunshine Birds were falling dead from the sky because of the heat, it was like some sort of ancient curse..!

Yup, we survived by staying indoors with binds shut and 2 ACs on

We went to the Giza Plateau on Monday with some friends and kinda illegally went off-road in their Jeep Wrangler, got chased by some policemen on camels, got in trouble and ended up having to bribe them (after which they went from super serious to saying "hello friends, welcome to Egypt!)

Anyway, managed to get this snap of the pyramids from an angle nobody would usually have access to. (That's actually one of the police men on the camel)

And here are a couple of snaps from inside the great pyramid for anyone interested...

The shaft you have to climb through to get to the tomb (you wouldn't want to be claustrophobic... )

And the tomb where the sarcophagus/mummy was..
