This belongs to Dmitri and is currently for sale, first time been up close and personal with one of these and have to say it won me over!!! Lovely sound and presence.

This was a enhancement detail to enhance the gloss in the paint, these type of details will still leave the deeper marks in the paint but add to the depth of the paint.

So to start, the befores!

Engine bay had usual dirt for an 8 year old car, but been the main attraction to this X5 it needed some love!

Next up, wheels and arches.

The trim has the usual staining from many factors like strong detergents, UV penetration etc.

Interior next, was not bad to be honest but still got a full days work including wet vacing the floor matts and boot mat, leather cleaned and conditioned all door cards cleaned and leather conditioned.

Petrol cap, usual grime

So onto the prep before polishing, wheels got a good clean both inside and out tryes degreased and then wheels were hit with some Iron Cleanse to get a deeper clean and cleanse.

Arches cleaned using Vikan brush and SurfexHD degreaser

Car was then washed using the 2BM, you can see here why 2BM is so important. Grit guard in both buckets, when I get to the lowers I then double up the grit guards into the "rinse" bucket just to help keep the swirls at bay

Body was then Iron Cleanse very hard to pick up on the Black but here is one and 2 of the exhausts showing slight reaction and also how dirty and in need of a good polish they were!!

Car was then de tarred and clayed, this shot is from the front wing on driver side and half the bonnet!! By the looks of things its never been clayed, done the car wonders looked a hell of a lot better after this stage!!

The plan for the interior was a quick clean, so that's wet vac the floor mats and bootliner and here is the after results of that, the bootliner has had a OEM cover from never and was extremely clean so basically this is the 4 floor matts that looked tidy to begin

So car was rewashed and taken inside, dried and this is how the paint then looked ready for a single stage polishing.

Flex rotary with 3m Blue Finishing Pad, tried some new finishing polish which is very low in the "cut" department but add tones of gloss which is more what this car needed

So plan was a single stage all over, but this test section left me a bit disappointed about how the bonnet would finish up, so this got an extra 2 hours and some love via a Orange Chemical Guys pad and some Scholl S3 Gold, then refined with the 3m Blue Pad no during shots of this but added a lot more then this 50/50 shows. Didn't budget for that but couldn't give it back in that state especially been such a big flat obvious panel

Some 50/50's a lot more depth even in the rear lenses, looked better in person then on the screen :-/

Rear badge got a little polish, far from perfect but looked better under natural light not as harsh

Interior, this is just a few snaps from the driver seat didn't get much else. Shiny leather is never good unless its just been cleaned and conditioned as it always means ingrained dirt!

2 brand new MFs used just the one to show the dirt taken from the driver seat alone nothing else!!

Finished, more of a matt finish the before but they also have a coat of conditioner so this added a little bit of a shine. The headrest is actually 50-50 between cleaned and to the right hand side its conditioned to show the added shine from it, prefer the matt finish but conditioner added softnest to the leather itself so worth it.

After shots! Finally sun came out to play!! These are straight from the camera no editing.

the money shot for me
