The e36 / e46 does have a steel frame, but it'll probably tear the floor out of it
E39 is a better prospect for load bearing, but has an aluminium sub frame, are you geared up for MIG or TIG? The frame also has the benefit of having a bigger space to work the assembly into.
Whats the Tesla rated torque at the diff?
