Why hasn't this car gotten the attention it deserves?
I mean it's powered by the same engine as the infamous 1M - an upgraded version of the 3L twin turbo N54 putting out 335bhp with an overboost function that gives it bursts of up to 500NM of torque!!!! Mated to a 7 speed Double Clutch Transmission with bespoke sports exhaust, larger brakes, as well as various other mechanical and visual tweaks unique to the 35is model. It's essentially an M or (M-Performance) car without the fuss and marketing.
It's a hardtop coupé that turns into a roadster in a few seconds with the touch of a button with none of the traditional soft-top downsides. It was praised by top gear and other motoring journalists, and though looks is a subjective thing, it's certainly not a minger whatever way you look at it.
So what is it? Do people think it's too flashy? or maybe girly? or was it too expensive when it was new?
I can't help but think that it's possibly one of BMW's finest, it should be up there with the 1Ms, and M2s, so why isn't it?
