Yeah, for these, they weren't an official Sport on the book in the UK, just had a Sport pack option ticked (in Ireland the same pack was available, it may have been labelled as MTech pack, as an option but had the 16" Style 32 alloys rather than Style 30's) . That consisted of (in the case of the 318i) the 16" Style 30 alloys (that seem to be included), half leather sport seats, anthracite headlining, MTec wheel and gear knob, sport suspension, etc. I had similar with the labelling of a '00 UK 523i. The only official "Sport" cars of this time were the 328i and late (around '99-'00) 528i, iirc. In the e36, the Sport pack was only available from early '98 until the run out on the various body styles in '98-'00.
Current: BMW 530e M-Sport - '17, BMW 630i Sport auto - '07, BMW 325i Coupe - '93, BMW Z4 2.5si Auto - '07, '90 BMW 316i Lux.
Previous: BMW 328i Coupe - '96, BMW 530i SE auto - '07, BMW 530i Sport auto - '02, BMW 318i SE Touring - '07, BMW 330Ci Sport - '04, BMW 520d SE - '11, BMW 523i SE - '00, BMW 328i SE Touring - '00, BMW 523i SE - '97, BMW 323i SE - '98, 330Ci - '00, 325i Coupe - '93, 318Ci - '01, 316iSE - '98, 325iSE 2dr - '91, 320i Conv - '91, 325i Coupe - '92, 320i 2dr - '91.
As Dergside says the M sport would not have been an official model in the E36 touring. You could opt for the M sport pack to add to the 318i and 328i. Only the 323i was officially listed an an M sport separate model in the touring.
