Have a 120 piece over 10 years now, still no issues and I'd say I've used 90% of the kit from maintaining mtb's and working on the cars (and one lawnmower)

Got this one myself few weeks back http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/st...egoryId_212410
My girlfriend bought me the 170 piece kit for my birthday last year when the half price sale was on (the benefit of dropping hints )
So far the quality has been as good as any Snap-on or Teng tool, from my experience, with the only thing breaking being the philips head socket that snapped; my own fault as screw had rusted itself solid but they replaced the socket anyway.
That's the main advantage really, if you only ever have a day or two to do a job on the car but end up breaking something the likelihood is that there will be a halfords nearby where it can be replaced. Snap-on, Teng etc. could be days or weeks.

have 3 of the halfords sets as they're so handy to have.
last one i bought was the 170 piece set in the north half price at £125 then reduced more with the trade card which was even better!
couldn't recommend them enough
Has anybody used the vortex system sockets?
They're supposed to be a lot lower profile than standard ratchets, due to be hollow with the socket sliding into them, but are they worth it?
I haven't come across anything yet so far on the E36 that has been too difficult to get at, but after tearing the hands off myself on a diesel accord at the weekend a low profile ratchet might be worth considering.
