I know you could say the same about a 316/M3 but Ford were considered as a normal bread and butter brand and not prestige brand the same as BMW.
There was Hot versions of nearly all the mundane family hacks, Xr2/Xr3/Xr4/Rs Turbo/Rs1800/Rs2000 and the Sierra/Escort/Granada Cosworths etc...
Maybe I'm just biased as I was brought up on Fords?
Although I must admit, I don't find modern that Fords that interesting.
