Well lads, anyone on here ever insure a car with a half cage fitted? (main loop and back of car caged)
If so who was it with and did it raise your premium much?

I'll take that as a no then , for anyone wondering top quote. Ie seem to be the most reasonable with most company's not covering the car at all

yes ,nobody cover car even with half cage . i think it was some problems when Porsche came in Ireland with cage from factory .
I have found myself that nobody insures modified cars in Ireland. Thats only my experience. Only modified car I could ever insure was a classic.
There fairly strict here alright, the u.k seems to be a world apart in terms of providing cover. They seem to understand that the majority of modifiers that put thousands into maintaining and improving there cars want to look after them, its the small minority acting the bo***x that ruin it for everybody

It's the poxy insurance market. They love to decline claims and any undeclared mod is a reason to do it. The industry is poorly regulated (I work in it). If you crash your e36 it will be written off for €800 and the 3rd partly will have their damage paid for. I wouldn't loose too much sleep over it.

A lot of people I've asked about this that have them fitted all said the same thing "just do it and say nothing" I just wanted to fit it for something a bit different bit it's not worth being uninsured in the event of an accident. I understand that its unknown how the car will react in a crash and this is where the concern comes from. But after asking companies what they cover id reckon a scary amount of modified cars wont be insured properly
