What annoys you about for sale ads?

There should be plenty, they should be high quality and relevant.

So many ads let down by crap pictures.

The issue here is the fact that there is us ie "car people" and them "your standard issue eejit" in regard to public sites like donedeal. We want clear honest information, they want to sell the car. Are not aware of, do not care or are hoping issues and little white lies go unnoticed.

This can work to the enthusiasts benefit some times but more often against as that 316i really is an M3 no matter what you say to them and the "I" refers to the interplanetary warp drive installed by their mate last week....

Personally, I'm used to buying things in general that are clearly labelled and priced as society dictates via advertising so a lot of the frustration with car sales ads comes from unclear information and pricing.

I'd want :

Honesty (lol)
Spec
Work done
Work needing to be done
Price
No bullshit.

When they are missing it grinds my gears....

Speaking of price, have ye ever gone to look at a car and ask how much they're looking for it, to get the response: "make an offer and I'll see" or "what's it worth to you". I dont understand why people can't give a straight up response to someone who is interested in purchasing their car!

Because they don't know the value of what they are selling or are hoping you don't.

I know what ya mean, that's why it would be nice to have a place where enthusiasts can post professional ads, for professional buyers who won't be wrecking their heads with silly questions about mpg or best cash price today.

Here's hoping bimmer.ie can be that place

I'v the E39 on another BMW site, And have had 2/3 PMs asking questions which is fair enough. Then they reply and say there not looking for a 520i SE, But a 530D M??

Errrm it says on the ad what it is.


I'll admit to doing the best cash price and lowball offers though. Sometimes works, Other times it don't but I have got serious bargains because of it.
