the fronts are grand, went to jack up and turn wheel on back but sure been half sleep never thought oh lsd it won't turn... ill check it out monday. yeah id say the alternator is on its way would that effect the running of the engine when cruising? i know thats probably causing the bad idle when turn lights on

I had a e60 520i in the other day for repair. It had the same weird symptoms as yours. Only when not under load it felt like the rear brakes were on and off. Turned out to be worn prop shaft rubber and the centre baring.
how can i tell if mine are worn?
