Is my obc stalk faulty ?

I installed an obc in to the e36 last week and for some reason at night time if I indicate to turn left or right the head lights come on. If I push the stalk all the way up/down they go off again but if not they stay on.
All the functions are working correctly and I'm fairly confident it's all wired up correctly.
The only thing not wired up Is the gong yet but the wires are ran and have taped up the ends of them can't see them being the problem.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?
    Is the stalk knackered ?
    Any help much appreciated
