I've been down this same route a lot in the past couple of years
and the best match i could find in terms of performance to the old
recipe Nitromors is a product called Ardrox 2526.
It's an industrial grade Aircarft paint stripper. Unfortunately it only
seems to be sold in 25 litre drums at a cost of £295 sterling.
I had planned to buy a drum and split it into smaller containers
to sell on and offset some of the cost but as of yet haven't pulled the trigger.

The one thing I have found with the current plale shadow of it's former
self Nitromors is that if you slop it on to the item in question as heavy as possible
and then cover loosely with a plastic bag to stop it evaporating and then leave
for 24 hours it actually does start to lift most paint types.
