the gearbox is grand (in fairness it only has to handle 80 bhp) i was talking to a lad one day that has one and its 110bhp with just a air intake change and remap which he said completely changes that car. its a lot in a car that only weighs 800kg

the steering ratio, again, when it's designed to cruise at silly speeds on the autobahn, it's naturally a wider/longer ratio so that it isn't twitchy, this naturally makes it slower to respond at slower speeds (eg back road blast etc) and so ruins the fun

Have been bold and have been looking at an e92 M3 steering rack swap, its a bolt on job and lowers the ratio from 16:1 to 12.5:1

May be a mod for a later date

That's literally the one thing that bothered me about the 335, been bangin on about it in the daily driver thread since I bought it...

Meant to say a use rack is about 300 or so quid i think

Nice choice Gar, having recently driven one they're fantastic cars. Excellent pin sharp handling from the standard suspension makes for über fun B road hooning and perfect cruiser on the motorway. Performance wise I found there to be very little in them between 197 & 231bhp however 231's are slightly better spec'd running gear.
