Rattling 318i e46

Hi,

I have the dreaded rattle in my 318i 2.0. Brought it to a garage and he thinks it's the timing chain, however i'm not sure as the rattle stops when i disconnect the MAF. He ran diagnostics and nothing showed up. Any ideas, valvetronic or vanos, maybe there's a specialist in Galway that could take a look? Car is probably not worth fixing but i'd like a definite diagnosis.

I won't be spending anything on it me thinks, i should have never sold the e36!
Back to a Carina haha!
