Thanks folks. Service history is quite good on it and all of the big ticket preventative maintenance items have been taken care of by a reputable company in the uk (CPC). First thing on the list is to replace out a lot of the suspension with a combination of OE and TRW (OEM) parts and flush all fluids in it for peace of mind. There is a bit of play in the front so might as well get it all sorted now. All in I'm happy out with it.

Needs a new battery (still on original ) and both Bluetooth and the USB ports are not working on it. I've swapped out the TCU with a working spare I had from the 335d and the issue is the same. I'll hopefully track down that problem in the next couple of days.

On the donedeal ad it looks like the idrive system was retrofitted with a CIC unit from an LCI model. Maybe this has something to do with the Bluetooth not working, possible something might need coding?

Holy F, I totally didn't cop that at all, total faceplam. I had CCC in my 07 335d but its been so long since I've seen it I'd forgotten the differences. I just hopped into the car and was thinking to myself CCC isn't that bad I don't know why people bother changing it.

I even had the unit out yesterday looking at it haha. Great okay at least that will point me in the right direction, thanks!

The CCC system is very dated, I wouldn't mind to much if I could stream music. Just using the aux connection at the moment, but I'll probably look into something a bit better down the road.

Still cant believe I didn't cop it, nice little bonus. I'll eventually get a combox for it but if I remember correctly audio quality is better via USB anyway. USB issue I had was a red herring, for some reason the CIC doesn't like the 64gb Sandisk drives I was testing with (both fat32), I stuck in a 16gb drive and all is good . I just need handsfree working more than anything else at the moment.

Put in a big order of parts last night so hopefully will have the car fully sorted in a couple of weeks. Most of its overkill but sure no point replacing 13 year old suspension components piecemeal, must get a thread up on it.
